Skilled, knowledgeable leadership is a key component to maintaining accreditation with ease and without panic. Oftentimes organizations fill a leadership vacancy but do not assess the new leader's skills and abilities, nor is the new leader provided any type of training, coaching, or mentoring.  Feedback isn’t given until a catastrophic negative event occurs. Then the leader may simply be fired, thus perpetuating the vicious cycle of underperforming leadership. This insidious cycle is costly, demoralizing, and keeps accreditation a precarious affair.
